I am in need of a makeup artist, why should I choose Stephanie Blue?
I am here to serve you on one of the most important days of your life. With 20 years of industry experience as a professional makeup I am able to listen and provide a flexible, customizable experience for every client I encounter.

After filling out the booking form, how soon can I hear back for you?
You will hear back from me within 24-48 hours depending on weekday/weekends. While I’d love to get back to all requests within minutes, I might be with a client, driving to or from a client or on set for a photoshoot and must give that client my undivided attention. No worries, responsiveness and timeliness are highly valued and I do my best to get back to requests promptly. I want to speak with everyone that has an interest in me serving them!

Do you work with a team?
Yes I do, depending of service & availability! All of the assistants I have worked with, I have either trained personally or worked with directly and trust their work, professionalism and timeliness to make this a seamless process for you. 

Can you send your pricing and packages?
I do not discuss rates without having a phone consultation with the bride. I want to make sure that I hear directly from the bride so I can get to know her, her beauty vision as well as her wedding details so I can offer the best package and payment options suited for her.

Do you travel for destination weddings?
Yes! In addition to your bridal package, destination brides must book flight, ground transportation, meals (typically all inclusive) and hotel accommodations.

Do you offer bridal trials?
I allow clients to book their trial on a day that syncs with a special event such as an engagement shoot, hair trial, dress fitting, bridal shower etc which can be some time after the initial phone consultation. Booking your wedding date and trial at the same time ensures that I will still be available for your wedding date while we wait to have your trial. Booking your trial separately from your wedding date, does not guarantee that.

To provide comfort to the client still nervous, this is why I require a phone consultation to make sure I understand your personality and beauty vision before you ever put down a retainer and we meet for a trial. I also can tweak the look to your liking during your trial to make sure you are in love with your look. I don’t want you to just like it, I want you to love it!!! For weddings, How do I prepare for the Pre-wedding trial?

After deciding on a mutually agreeable pre-wedding trial date, I will email you with the following trial instructions:

• Please refrain from wearing makeup products on the day of the trial. Regular skincare routine is fine.
  

• Wear a white/cream v-neck, white/cream button down, or white/cream tank top. This is optimal for your pre-wedding day trial if you plan to wear a white dress for the wedding.
  

• Please bring photos of your wedding hairstyle, if applicable.
  

• Please bring makeup inspiration photos.
  

• Please bring photos of your wedding attire.
  

• Please bring photos of wedding attire for your bridal party.
  

• Please bring any photos you may have of planned decor, flowers, or colors. This helps me visualize the overall style for your wedding look.
  

For Weddings, What happens during the pre-wedding trial?

You should allow 90 minutes for a makeup-only trial. During the allotted time, we discuss your wedding style details and your ideas and images your wedding day makeup and hair. We review any inspirational photos that you have brought, and then, based on our discussion, I do your makeup. We then go over the finished look, tweaking the makeup if needed. After we finalize the look for makeup and hair, we review and finalize the wedding day timeline and confirm whether any additional artists are needed to assist for your wedding day. If your time is limited that day, please let me know ahead of time so that we can discuss wedding style details and the wedding day timeline before beginning the actual trial.

What should I expect on the day of the special event or wedding?

We will have discussed logistics during the initial consultation and/or pre-wedding trial. If I am on location, I always build in sufficient time to park and get set up, and I am always on time. You should expect a calm, orderly makeup session.

What do I need to prepare for you on the day of event?

Please make sure to designate an area for me that has the best natural light, near a window. Please ask the hotel staff if a bar stool can be provided. For hair styling, a lower hotel chair is adequate.

Do you do hair or know anyone who does?

I do light hair styling, making sure that hair is in place for photos and video. I maintain a list of hair stylists—many of whom I contract or work with on a regular basis—and can provide referrals, as requested. Please note that most of the hair stylists I work with do separate contracts. 

I tend to get oily and I sweat a lot, will my makeup last all day?
While I can’t promise that you will be shine free all day, I’m CONFIDENT that the makeup application will not move or “run” (with exception to the lip color). For my bridal clients concerned about it, pick the package where I stay with you till the reception so you can be worry free.

Can you do a natural look?
Yes, I sure can! But often times, the everyday woman who doesn’t wear much makeup on a consistent basis can mean a different type of natural in comparison to makeup artists. This is another reason why a phone consultation is key!

Are lashes included?
OF COURSE! I’m a strong lover of false lashes because of the effect it has on completing your look for wedding photography. I have an assortment of natural to dramatic strip false lashes for you and your bridal party. I can also customize the bride’s lashes with individual lashes to fit your specific eye shape and get them just perfect.

What measures are you taking for COVID-19?

Prior to service I will have you sign a COVID-19 Liability Wavier. In addition to fully sanitizing all of my tools with 70% isopropyl alcohol I have increased the amount of sanitizer and disinfectant wipes to my kit. I have increased my one time use of products as much as possible. I am also requiring clients to wash and sanitize before and after service.
